The Role:
The Head of Business Development will need to have an excellent knowledge of online advertising, including search engine marketing, affiliate marketing, display and direct response media, with at least several years' experience working in a mid to senior level marketing / media business development role. An advanced understanding of marketing strategy and practice is essential for this position. Successful experience in an online agency environment and dealing with procurement/intermediaries is vital.
The successful candidate will be able to motivate and lead from the front. A proven track record in sales or business development and an entrepreneurial spirit are a must for this role. Previous contact with the UK's top advertisers would be an advantage. The candidate must be able to demonstrate sound marketing thinking, and working closely with the Marketing Director be able to pro-actively develop, implement and coordinate a range of marketing activities to strengthen performance of the company, including a social media sales strategy, production and collation of credentials and case study materials, management of the agency's website assets, trade shows and events, networking opportunities and direct marketing.

- Person specification:
- A self-starter with ability to anticipate agency needs and exercise initiative.
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly & confidently with people at all levels internally and externally.
- Negotiation proficiency.
- The role demands a high proficiency and experience in presenting, pitching and responding to RFIs, RFPs and ITTs.
- Business Development experience is essential as is knowledge of the sales process and ability to identify ways to improve it would be advantageous. You should be able to analyse market trends/behaviour to uncover new business opportunities.
- Ability to build strong and lasting relationships (and past contacts would be a huge benefit)
